The Artisan Collar | Dream & Design Lab

You Dream It, We Create It. Welcome to the Dream & Design Lab, where you become the designer. Whether you want to match your favourite harness, coordinate with a walking coat, or simply express your unique style, this is where your vision comes to life.

Introducing: The Artisan Collar

For this piece, we have fused the rugged, waterproof reliability of Biothane with the delicate, cushioned comfort of hand-braided 550 Paracord.

Featuring our Artisan Round Braid, this collar is defined by its slender, rope-like profile. At roughly 1cm in diameter, it is lightweight and elegant—perfect for smaller dogs or those who prefer a less bulky fit.

We use a tight 4-Strand Round Braid technique to create a rope-like core. It is approximately 1cm in diameter, offering a lightweight and flexible fit that is soft against the fur.

The Strap: 

The adjustable section is made from 100% Genuine BioThane® webbing—a material that is impervious to water, mud, and odours.

Hardware Options: 

The Style Edit: Choose Rose Gold or Gun Metal Grey plated hardware for a stunning, high-fashion finish. Perfect for city walks and cafe trips. 

The Adventure Edit: Planning to hit the beach or the mud? Upgrade to Solid Brass or Stainless Steel. These are completely rust-proof, salt-water safe, and built to survive the elements.

Every collar is made to order in by Sophia, in the heart of the South Downs. She meticulously braids the four distinct strands of paracord by hand to create a smooth, round profile. This process allows for total creativity—you can assign a different colour to every single strand for a "confetti" look, or keep all four strands the same for a bold block-colour finish.

This collar is adjustable via the Biothane strap, while the braided section remains fixed for comfort. Please measure your dog's neck snugly where the collar usually sits.

  • X-Small (XS): 19 – 25 cm (16mm Strap Width)

  • Small (S): 25 – 31 cm (19mm Strap Width)

  • Medium (M): 31 – 37 cm (19mm Strap Width)

  • Large (L): 37 – 43 cm (25mm Strap Width)

  • X-Large (XL): 43 – 49 cm (25mm Strap Width)

(Note: With its slender 1cm profile, the Artisan Braid is particularly well-suited for sizes XS–M, or L/XL dogs who prefer a lighter, less bulky fit).

The Strap: Simply wipe the Biothane section with a damp cloth to remove mud or dirt.

The Braid: If the paracord gets dirty, give it a quick rinse in warm soapy water.

Drying: Air dry only.

Hardware Care:

  • Plated (Rose Gold/Gun Metal): Wipe dry after wet walks to preserve the finish.

  • Solid (Brass/Stainless Steel): Rinse with fresh water after ocean dips to keep them sparkling.

Design Your Collar, Your Way in 4 Simple Steps:

1. Choose Your Hardware 

Select from our standard Chrome or Rose Gold (plated), or upgrade to Solid Brass or Stainless Steel for heavy-duty, rust-proof durability.

2. Pick Your Base 

Choose the Biothane® webbing colour for the adjustable strap and buckle section.

3. Paint Your Palette 

Select up to 4 Paracord colours to be braided together for the Artisan Braid. Go monochromatic, pick a duo, or create a rainbow—the choice is yours.

A Note on Colour Placement 

Unless specified, we will arrange your chosen colours in the braid order we feel looks most balanced.

Have a specific layout in mind? (e.g. "I want the pink on the outside and the white in the middle"). Simply let us know in the Notes / Order Comments section, and we will braid it exactly how you want it!
